Formed in 1987 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Max Trixi arose from the ashes of several failed musical projects, to forge a distinctive sound that evolved from keyboard-driven hard rock to a raw, hard-hitting heavy metal edge. Originally comprised of Mike Lariviere, Java Valenzuela, Kathi Young, and Kenney Young, the band transitioned when Kathi took over lead vocals, steering Max Trixi toward a heavier, more dynamic style.
